Windows 7 RC 64 bit
I’ve dumped my paid copy of Vista Home Premium 64 bit and replaced it with the free Windows 7 RC 64 bit: I won’t regret it. Windows 7 rocks so far. It can even automatically detect and install my fingerprint-reader, this required special software in Vista because Microsoft hadn’t created a 64 bit driver 
. The RC (Release Candidate) works until August 2010 and by then the real deal should be out in stores.
Why does Windows 7 rock? To be honest there’s not that big a difference between Vista and 7, but it’s the small differences in the UI that matters – they really picked up on this. Hopefully they will be as good usability designers as Apple (hint: iPhone).
